About the Roles
From hairstylists to assistants and receptionists, every role contributes to a cohesive salon experience. Explore the key duties that support our daily operations.
Hairstylist Duties
- Provide expert cutting, coloring, and styling services
- Continuously develop skills through advanced education and training
- Foster client loyalty through exceptional service and communication
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented salon culture
- Recommend tailored products to help clients maintain their results at home
Assistant Duties
- Support stylists with client preparation, shampooing, treatments, and service assistance
- Maintain clean, organized workstations and salon spaces
- Prepare and replenish tools, products, towels, and capes throughout the day
- Welcome clients and assist with front desk operations as needed
Reception Duties
- Coordinate appointments, scheduling, and client communications
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting clients and managing inquiries
- Process transactions and maintain accurate daily sales records
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming salon environment
- Assist with inventory management and supply ordering
- Support salon growth by promoting services and retail products to clients
Apprenticeship Program
At Mane West, we are committed to helping aspiring hairstylists gain valuable hands-on experience and build a strong foundation for their careers.
Our apprenticeship program offers the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals, develop technical skills,
and grow within a supportive salon environment. Here's an overview of what apprentices typically do as part of our team.
Client Service Support
- Assist stylists with shampooing, conditioning, treatments, and select salon services
- Support senior stylists with blowouts, toner applications, and service preparation
- Provide basic services, such as wash & styles and children's haircuts, based on skill level and experience
- Welcome clients and assist with front desk responsibilities as needed
- Help ensure a positive and comfortable experience for every client
Salon Maintenance
- Maintain salon cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards
- Prepare workstations, tools, and products for stylists
- Support inventory management and supply replenishment
- Ensure salon spaces are client-ready throughout the day
Learning & Development
- Observe and learn techniques from experienced stylists
- Practice basic skills under supervision
- Stay current with hair care products and treatments
- Work towards obtaining a hairstyling license
